Hi...my name is Heather Patterson. Hopefully if you are reading this, you are a camp director looking for an energetic and uniquely talented addition to your camp arts program.

A little about me...

I am an award-winning artist with 20 years professional experience. I have been the Arts Director for Camp Eagle Hill for the past three summers, and due to program changes, I am looking for a position at a new camp. I enjoy working in a camp setting and my two children Zoe and Louie, certainly enjoy going with me. My roles at CEH included overseeing the Arts Barn and its staff, ordering supplies, instructing campers 5 out of 6 periods a day in a variety of activities including but not limited to plein air oil painting, tie dye, and set design and construction, producing all scenery for the Theater Department, some costume design, signage for evening activities and special events, and face/body paintings at dances and special events. Essentially...if a paintbrush was involved, so was I.

In addition to 3 years of camp experience, I have other experience in leadership and organizational positions. I am the President of Boardwalk Arts Inc which has produced several local arts and music festivals. Dealing with 40+ artists and 30 musicians over the course of a weekend event requires flexibility, organization, the ability to deal with many different personalities and a tremendous amount of energy...and that's after months of prep work. All of these abilities are of course essential to a camp job! To learn a bit more about my work in this area, please visit www.boardwalkarts.blogspot.com

As I stated before, I am an artist by profession. To see examples of my work, please visit www.paintingrye.blogspot.com and www.heatherpattersondailyart.blogspot.com

I also have over 10 years experience as a professional picture framer. If your looking for a TRULY unique offering to enhance your fine arts program, I can teach basic mat cutting and framing assembly as well as specialty mats such as hand wrapped fabric mats and french matting techniques. As part of my years in the framing business, I was a manager for a craft store frameshop (think Michael"s!) where I was in charge of several employees and all ordering of supplies.

In short, I have a lot to offer that would enhance any camp arts program. I am enthusiastic and passionate...and NOT afraid of hard work!

Thank you for your time and consideration in reading this. To contact me directly, please email me at paintingrye@live.com. References from former supervisors, staff that I have supervised, people familiar with my work in the community and professionally outside of camp, and even a couple of campers are available upon request.
